Lower Water Heater Temperature
Set the thermostat on your water heater to 120 degrees F. Lowering the heat by 10 degrees will save 3-5 percent on your energy bills - and the water is still hot!
Seal Windows to Save
Sealing windows with weather stripping and caulk can save up to 5 percent on your energy bills.
Humidify in Cold Weather
In cold winter climates, use a humidifier to add moisture to the air. Moist air feels warmer, allowing you to lower your thermostat (to save energy) and still feel comfortable.
