To be designated by RESNET as an Energy Smart Builder, a builder enters into a Memorandum of Understanding with RESNET to market the homes’ HERS® Index Score. There is an annual $200.00 processing fee to be designated as a RESNET Energy Smart Builder. Complete the online RESNET Energy Smart Builder Memorandum of Understanding to apply to be designated as a RESNET Energy Smart Builder. Becoming a RESNET Energy Smart Builder is in no way connected to or required of the ENERGY STAR or DOE Net Zero Energy programs. Note: California builders must work with an accredited RESNET HERS Provider or Rating Company to be accepted as a RESNET Energy Smart Builder and be listed in the Energy Smart Builder directory.
