Roy Honican of Blue Grass Energy was elected as the President of the RESNET Board of Directors by the RESNET Board. Roy is a certified RESNET HERS® Rater. He was instrumental in working with the Home Builders Association of Lexington in having its builder members become RESNET Energy Smart Builders. He has also been instrumental in working with Touchstone Energy to incorporate RESNET standards into its Together We Save program. Roy’s goal as the RESNET Board President is to lead the effort of expanding RESNET’s services to rural America, the mainstreaming of the HERS® Index into the housing market and making RESNET a more inclusive organization. RESNET Executive Director Steve Baden welcomed Roy Honican as the new RESNET Board President saying, “For 2016 the RESNET Board has adopted the new priority of expanding RESNET’s services. Rural Americans pay among the highest energy bills in the nation.
