Jan 25, 2023 General

Robert Pegues of US-EcoLogic, Inc. was appointed by the RESNET Board of Directors to fill a vacancy as a RESNET Accredited Provider representative on the RESNET Board. The term of the appointment is through December 31, 2023.

Robert Pegues is the Senior Project Manager and Quality Assurance Manager for the Irving, Texas-based US-EcoLogic. For the last 8 years, he has championed green building and energy efficiency resources for single-family builders and developers worldwide, from Texas to Doha, Qatar.

Robert served with the United States Marine Corps, gaining leadership and operational acumen. He is credentialed as LEED Faculty, LEED QAD, RESNET QAD and Trainer, NGBS Verifier, Fortified Homes verifier, and IECC Plans Examiner. Mr. Pegues has previously volunteered his time on the USGBC Technical Advisory Committee in 2019 and currently sits as the South-Central Partnership for Energy Efficiency and Resources (SPEER) Board of Directors Secretary. He is also actively involved in the North Central Texas Council of Governments and IECC Language development. Robert was also integral in the development of LEED for Homes v4.1 and the production builder pathway for certification.

Robert jokes that “he is kept in line by his lovely wife Lucy of 13 years, and they share a mostly simple small-town life with their 3 wonderful children, 3 dogs, a cat, 2 goats, and 5 chickens”

Mr. Pegues stated that his goal on the RESNET Board is, “to help RESNET define itself as the primary and leading Home Certification Organization (HCO). Efforts could be made to find partnerships with regional educational organizations to help promote HERS® Ratings further. I would also be able to work locally to help find ways to incorporate HB 3215 and 45L along with other IOU and public utility programs to help incentivize builders to consider HERS® as a staple to building.”

RESNET Executive Director Steve Baden welcomed Robert Pegues to the RESNET Board, “Robert provides insight into the needs of high-volume builders in a booming market. Clearly, Texas is leading the path for HERS-rated homes as demonstrated by the fact that in 2022 over 80,000 homes were HERS® rated in the state.”
