As a result of the voting, Brian Shanks of Beazer Homes (above) was newly elected as a Provider Representative of the RESNET Board. Brian Shanks is the Manager of National Accounts and Governmental Affairs for Beazer Homes. Beazer Homes is a production home building company based in Atlanta, Georgia. The company is the 11th largest homebuilder in the United States based on the number of homes closed. The company operates in 13 states. For twenty years, Mr. Shanks has been aligned with energy-efficient home building in Georgia and Nationally. Initially, he started with a local Atlanta builder delivering EarthCraft House and ENERGY STAR® homes then joining Beazer Homes, a 100% ENERGY STAR homebuilder. Mr. Shanks has advocated for progressive, yet responsible energy code development, currently as an active member of the Leading Builders of America (LBA) Energy Code and National Quality Council, RESNET SDC 300 committee, and recently through the Home Builders Association of Georgia Regulatory Affairs Committee. Serving Beazer Homes as Manager of National Accounts and Governmental Affairs since 2011, Mr. Shanks has diligently engaged in delivering ENERGY STAR certified and HERS® rated homes to thousands of consumers annually. The turnout for this year’s Board election broke all records. There were 376 ballots were cast. The turnout reflects the caliber of candidates standing for election in the 2019 RESNET Board election.
