The Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) is issuing a request for proposals to develop online training content. The purpose of the training content is to provide product supplier representatives and sales staff with an understanding of how RESNET’s Home Energy Rating System (HERS) works. Successful completion of the training will result in a designation of HERS® Affiliate. The goal of this training is to support the staff of the members of RESNET’s Supplier Advisory Board in understanding the basics of home energy ratings. At a minimum, attendees who view this online training should be able to have a basic understanding of how different housing components and products impact a home’s HERS® Index Score. The training may not exceed two hours and should cover the following topics: What is RESNET and the HERS® Index? What is a HERS® Rater and What Can They Do? What is a Rating Field Inspector and What Can They Do? The Role of RESNET Training and QA Providers. The Rating Process and Types of Ratings. Introduction to Building Science. What is the role of the HERS® Index energy codes? What is the role of HERS® in other Green Building, Energy Efficiency and Utility programs. This training course will be hosted on RESNET’s Training Portal. RESNET expects the contractor to provide a short module for each of the above topics in PowerPoint format. The final presentations should be converted to HTML format and include a narration for each module. Five to ten questions with correct answers and distractors should be included at the end of each module. Each Power Point should include full speaker notes. Slide visuals should be graphic-based with limited text. All proposals must be received by November 21, 2018 to be considered.
