RESNET Honors Congressman Mike Levin at RESNET Spring Board Meeting

Apr 7, 2023 General

Congressman Mike Levin was recognized as a special guest of honor at the recent RESNET Spring Board meeting in Washington, DC on March 14th. The Congressman’s district covers the RESNET headquarters based in Oceanside, California.

Congressman Levin is a strong advocate for residential energy efficiency, has addressed the past two virtual RESNET Conferences, and sponsored the bill, (117th) HR 4657, the Veteran Home Energy Savings Act, that will make more veterans eligible to afford energy-efficient homes through the VA home loan program.

RESNET Executive Director Steve Baden said, “It has been a longstanding goal of RESNET, and many in the home performance industry, to encourage the recognition of energy savings as part of the mortgage underwriting process. That is why we are especially grateful for his leadership on the Veteran Home Energy Savings Act, which was included in the recent Omnibus Appropriations package that passed Congress and was signed into law by President Biden in late 2022. The Congressman and his staff were incredible to work with and overcame many hurdles to get this transformational bill through the legislative gauntlet. We look forward to continuing to work with Congressman Levin and his staff over the next two years.”

Faith Williams, Legislative Director and Acting DC Chief of Staff for Congressman Mike Levin accepted the award on his behalf.
