RESNET is releasing a new video in the HERSH2O  series, “RESNET HERSH2O® Benefits Builders, Water Utilities, and Policy Makers”, during the 2022 WaterSmart Innovations Conference and Exposition, Oct. 4-6 at South Point Hotel & Conference Center, Las Vegas, NV.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has reported the United States lost more than 2.1 trillion gallons of viable drinking water in 2020, due to the lack of water efficiency in homes. Meanwhile, the average family spends $1,000 annually on water costs, while water bills continue to rise at 3x the amount of average inflation.

The RESNET HERSH2O® program is working to change these statistics.

HERSH2O® is based on an accredited American National Standard and can be used by builders to achieve the WaterSense Label for Homes.

Water utilities and government agencies can use HERSH2O® as an incentive program that promotes specific levels of water savings. With the ability to quantify both indoor and outdoor water usage, incentive programs can target the most important areas for water efficiency in their region. Builders that get their homes rated with HERSH2O® are demonstrating their environmental commitment to prospective buyers and investors.

The Rating Industry is ready to meet the demand for water ratings, with a network of thousands of Raters eligible to offer HERSH2O® Ratings across the U.S. All active certified RESNET Home Energy Raters and Rating Field Inspectors are eligible to conduct HERSH2O ratings after completing the online HERSH2O Rater Training. Becoming a WaterSense Home Verifier requires completion of the HERSH2O Rater Training and viewing the WaterSense Version 2 video on the RESNET training portal.

HERSH2O® Ratings can be trusted because they are backed by RESNET’s Gold Standard Quality Assurance oversight process.
