2023 has witnessed a steady increase in the number of RESNET HERS® Index, HERSH20®, and Carbon Index Ratings. Early in 2024, there will be over four million homes RESNET-rated. Not content to rest on these laurels, the RESNET Board of Directors has adopted a goal that a million RESNET ratings will be conducted annually by the end of 2028. Achieving this goal would dramatically increase the business opportunities for all of the RESNET network. This is not an idle commitment but back a set of aggressive initiatives that will be boosted or launched in 2024. The key initiatives that are expected to have the greatest impact include: • ESG Reporting • Energy Code Compliance • Green Mortgage Back Securities • Water Efficiency Ratings • Build to Rent Movement • Carbon Index • New VA Loan Energy Mortgage Program RESNET looks forward to working with the HERS rating industry and its network partners in achieving this goal.
