RESNET Standards require all rated features of ratings from plans be confirmed through field inspection upon completion of construction of the home. Such ratings are to be labeled as” from plans” (RESNET Standards section 102.1.4.1). The label is inaccurate in that it suggests only a rating projected from plans. The current definition does not necessarily promote the rigorous testing and inspections that back up the ‘rating from plans’. After an ANSI compliant public review and comment process the RESNET Board adopted the amendment. The amendment will go into effect on October 26, 2012.
