This month’s Builder of the Month is North Carolina’s Nicholson and Sun, a certified Green Built NC builder, Energy Star Partner, net-zero builder, Duke Energy HERO program participant, member of the Asheville Home Builders Association, and member of the Western North Carolina Green Building Council. In this month’s feature, we asked Project Manager Dan Torrington from Nicholson & Sun to share some insight on building HERS® homes for their customers. “Nicholson and Sun is a leading builder of net-zero homes in Asheville, NC. Our net-zero homes typically achieve HERS® scores of less than 10. These stellar HERS® ratings demonstrate to our clients the positive impact they are making on climate change by building a net-zero, highly energy-efficient home”, says Dan. He adds, “The HERS® score of our homes is an important metric by which we can measure the success of our building techniques in increasing the energy efficiency of the homes we build.
