The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA)’s new Residential Service & Installation (RSI) Verifier Program is built on the power of third party verification and RSI Verifiers play a key role in the program. RSI Verifiers can determine and certify whether a specific HVAC installation has meet the requirements of the ACCA/ANSI HVAC Quality Installation Specification. Certified Home Energy Raters can apply to become a verifier with the RSI Program and then work with selected contractors in their area to verify that the jobs have been installed to the ACCA standards. Each RSI contractor must have 100% of their RSI-qualified installations reviewed by a RSI verifier. The verifier must also review onsite of the contractor’s first three installations. RSI Verifiers must pass a 75 question test to demonstrate that they can confirm installed HVAC systems meet the RSI program requirements.
