Frank O’Brien-Bernini, Owens Corning

  Frank O’Brien-Bernini is vice president, chief sustainability officer of Owens Corning, a world leader in building materials and composite solutions. His role encompasses global accountability (including Asia/China, the Americans, and Europe) for Owens Corning’s sustainability strategy development and implementation, including Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S). In 2013 Frank’s work lead to Owens Corning being recognized by the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the 4th straight year and named to the #1 spot of Industry Leader for World Index Building Products. Further, Owens Corning received perfect scores in the 2013 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) published by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation for promotion of diversity in the workplace. Frank and his team have completed OC’s first 10-year sustainability plan and working towards the next 10 year goals (http://sustainability.owenscorning.com/). In 30 years with Owens Corning, he has held various leadership positions, including most recently, vice president, chief R&D officer. Prior to joining Owens Corning, Mr. O’Brien-Bernini ran a solar design/build firm.

 

Kelly Stephens, SunRiver St. George

 Kelly has been heavily involved in the construction industry for more than 30 years. He was instrumental in making the SunRiver Development 100 percent 5 Star Energy Homes for the last 12 years. Kelly has served on numerous Boards and currently serves on the Southern Utah Home Builders Association as a State Board Representative. He was President of the SUHBA in 2011 and has been elected as President of the Utah State Home Builders Association for 2015.

 

Daran Wastchak, D.R. Wastchak, LLC

Daran Wastchak is the President of D.R. Wastchak, LLC, a firm based in Tempe, Arizona that specializes in residential energy efficiency and building science consulting.

He has been a key implementer of the EPA’s ENERGY STAR for Homes program in the Phoenix market since 1996, also providing LEED for Homes, IECC and Low Income Housing Tax Credit services for single and multi-family projects. Daran has a Bachelor of Science degree from the Del E. Webb School of Construction at Arizona State University as well as a Master’s degree and PhD in Public Administration from ASU. He is a member of the Energy and Environmental Building Alliance (EEBA) Board of Directors and served ten years on the RESNET Board of Directors, including as Board Vice President and Secretary as well as Chairman of the Quality Assurance Committee.
