The Netherlands-based GRESB real estate investment international accreditation body has recognized RESNET HERS ratings as an ESG reporting metric. GRESB collects, validates, scores, and independently benchmarks ESG data to provide business intelligence, engagement tools, and regulatory reporting solutions for real estate investors and asset managers. The GRESB Real Estate Assessment provides real estate financiers, developers and managers with valuable ESG data, tools, and investor engagement opportunities. In 2023, over 2,000 property development companies, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) funds, and developers with over $7.2 trillion in assets participated through the assessment, covering over 170,000 developments across 75 countries. The HERS Index was recognized by GRESB as a “Building Certification Scheme” that can be used as an internationally recognized metric for real estate ESG reporting. RESNET’s GRESB recognition serves to add credibility of HERS Ratings in the Build-To-Rent emerging real estate market as investors and developers are looking for ways to boost their sustainability reporting.
