Comment Period July 1, 2020 – August 14, 2020 Proposed Addendum 50 amends the RESNET Mortgage Industry National Home Energy Rating Standards (MINHERS) Chapter 2 to add criteria for a new certification category, the HERS® Home Energy Modeler. This new certification category was authorized by the RESNET Board of Directors with the intent of improving consistency of modeling homes for HERS® ratings. Certification will require training of persons who conduct the modeling and analysis of home energy performance using accredited HERS® Software Tools and demonstration of proficiency with the specific software used by the modeler. RESNET Standard Development Committee 200 approved draft PDS-01 of MINHERS® Addendum 50: HERS® Modeler, for public review and comment. Comment on this first draft will be open for 45 days. Additions and revisions to the MINHERS® Chapter 2 are shown with red print in strikeout/underline format. Public comments will be accepted through August 14, 2020. The draft addendum, comment form, and comments submitted to date are posted at Draft PDS-01 of proposed Addendum 50: HERS® Modeler. After the comment period, SDC 200 will consider and document each of the comments submitted and make appropriate changes. Substantive changes will be submitted for public comment.
