CR Herro, Vice President of Environmental Affairs for Meritage Homes, a large-volume national home builder, will be the keynote speaker at the 2017 RESNET Building Performance Conference in Scottsdale, Arizona on Monday, February 27, 2017. Following the 2017 RESNET Conference theme of “All In!” Mr. Herro will shift the focus of discussions from the traditional “how to build sustainability into homes” into “why sustainable homes are important.” CR is a dynamic public speaker who is convinced building higher-performance homes can win market share and improve profit performance. He has appeared before numerous groups nationally as an advocate to advance the industry, encourage rational regulations and bring associated stakeholders together toward adopting credible improvements to the function, performance, and long term value of new homes. Meritage Homes is the 7th largest home builder in the U.S. The company builds high energy performance homes in 21 markets in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas. It has delivered more than 90,000 homes since it was founded. The company prides itself as “setting the standards for energy efficient homes”. In the last three years, Meritage has received numerous awards, including the EnergyValue Housing Award, Best Green Building Program Award, NAHB Builder of the Year and the U.S. EPA’s ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year–Sustained Excellence Award, recognizing ongoing industry leadership.
