2013 RESNET Building Performance Conference Offers One Day Pre-Conference RESNET EnergySmart Contractor Training

EnergySmart Contractor/Builder training is designed to help contractors and builders acquire the knowledge and training to complete energy efficient retrofits and building projects in a safe and efficient manner. This 8-hour course is preparation for an exam that will be administered by RESNET for the EnergySmart Contractor designation.

Training Objectives:

  • Once you’ve successfully completed this course, you will be able to: State the purpose of the EnergySmart Contractor, and explain where this role fits in the larger process of energy efficiency remodeling.
  • Explain the importance of treating the house as a system of interactive parts.
  •  Define the purpose of energy auditing, being able to communicate this to customers.
  • List at least 5 typical energy efficiency home improvements and prioritize them.
  • Describe the process required to create a work scope of improvements.

The training will be conducted by Ethan MacCormick and Emelie Cuppernell, Performance Systems Development.
