RESNET’S Standards are under continuous maintenance with revisions approved on an ongoing basis via amendment proceedings that create addenda. Periodically the standards are updated to integrate approved addenda and additional revisions into a new edition. RESNET is updating Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 to incorporate criteria for dwelling and sleeping units for all Residential Buildings and Commercial Buildings (as defined by the IECC) developed by the Multi-Family Ratings initiative. The revisions for attached dwelling and sleeping units and all approved addenda to Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 will be published in a new edition of the Standard. The third draft of the revised standard BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-201x, Draft PDS-03, is submitted for public comment. To review and comment on the Draft follow the links below. Draft PDS-03, BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-201x, Update of Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 Comment on Draft PDS-03, BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-201x View comments on Draft PDS-03, BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-301x The public comment period will be open for 45 days beginning September 28, 2018 and ending November 12, 2018. Only comments on changes to the second draft, Draft PDS-02 BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-201x, will be accepted. Those changes are shown by strike and underline in red text in Draft PDS-03, BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-201x. Note: With respect to Thermal distribution systems in Table 4.2.2(1), while shown in red strikethrough and underline, draft PDS-03 BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-201x simply resets the text in this Table to match the currently approved requirements of Standard ANSI/RESNET/CC 301-2014 Addendum D-2017. This is due to a separate proceeding occurring (BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-2014 Addendum L-201x) that is refining the duct leakage test exception that was introduced in Addendum D. To contain all changes related to duct leakage testing in one proceeding, draft PDS-03 BSR/RESNET/ICC 301-201x was modified and the changes previously proposed have instead been included in Addendum L. Tips and Reminders for Submitting Public Comments Comments must pertain to text in draft PDS-03 that is shown as either strikethrough or underlined and red print. Comments on portions of draft PDS-03 that are not changes to draft PDS-02 and where no change is indicated will be rejected, Comments must include a specific proposed change to the text of the draft open for comment. Proposed added text must be underlined and text proposed to be removed must be shown using strike-through. If not submitted in this format, the public comment may be rejected Do not submit comments on other standards or other standards and addenda that are under development (i.e. MINHERS® or Standard 380, Standard 301 Addenda F, L or N) If you submit public comment representing the collective interests of a group of stakeholders, you are encouraged to submit ONE public comment and identify all stakeholders in that comment. While not required, this expedites the ability of the committees to respond to commenters in a timely manner. Public comments are reviewed by committees with volunteer members, that are Raters, Providers, Software Developers and other industry and public interest stakeholders. They are not reviewed by RESNET Staff. Most amendments to RESNET standards are proposed by industry and public stakeholders not RESNET. To learn more about submitting proposed amendments CLICK HERE.
