Proposed Addendum 47f is the follow up to Interim Addendum 47i which amends the RESNET Mortgage Industry National Home Energy Rating Standards to provide a temporary exception ending January 1, 2021 to duct leakage testing for certain types of ducts located within conditioned space. It adds an exception to the requirements of Standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301 in section 303 of the MINHERS® standards for determining HERS® ratings. The exception allows use of a default Distribution System Efficiency (DSE) in lieu of required testing of the air distribution system leakage when ducts are located within conditioned space. The public comment period will be open for 30 days beginning May 18, 2020 through June 16, 2020. After the comment period, RESNET Standard Development Committee 300 will consider and document each of the comments submitted and make appropriate changes. Any substantive changes to draft PDS-01 will be provided to the public for comment. When there are no more substantive changes the proposed final amendment will be submitted to the RESNET Standard Management Board for final approval.
