RESNET PROPOSES AMENDMENT OF CHAPTER 3 TO ADOPT ANSI/RESNET 301-2014 “STANDARD FOR THE CALCULATION AND LEABELING OF THE ENERGY PERFORMANCE OF LOW-RISE RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS USING THE HERS® INDEX” RESNET initiated a project in 2012 to redevelop essential technical requirements of the Mortgage Industry National Home Energy Rating System standard, Chapter 3 in a form that would be approved by ANSI as an American National Standard. The project produced the recently approved ANSI/RESNET 301-2014, Standard for the Calculation and Labeling of the Energy Performance of Low-Rise Residential Buildings using the HERS® Index. In keeping with its intent RESNET will amend Chapter 3 of the Mortgage Industry National HERS® standard to adopt the American National Standard ANSI/RESNET 301-2014 together with criteria essential to its implementation within the RESNET system. This proposed amendment is undergoing the RESNET standard amendment public review and comment process. Interested parties are encouraged to comment on the proposed amendment.
