The question of whether an RFI would be required to complete the two-hour combustion safety training again to be certified as a HERS® Rater came up during QAD training. This amendment addresses that question for those RFIs whose QA Providers have already completed the Rater required training with them. If the RFI has already successfully completed the two-hour field training course, then they should not be required to complete it again as part of their HERS® Rater certification. However, the full two-hour training is not required for RFI certification, only the ability to demonstrate that the RFI Candidate can perform the combustion safety field tests. If the RFI has not yet had the full two-hour training, it should still be required.
