The new standard will provide guidance for implementing Remote Virtual Inspection (RVI) for energy code compliance and for building water and energy efficiency performance. It will provide criteria for virtual code inspections conducted by performance raters for checking all aspects of permitted construction for compliance with energy codes and other energy-related applicable laws and regulations. The standard will address using RVI to inspect a building’s water use performance as determined by standard ANSI/RESNET/ICC 850 and to inspect a building’s energy use performance as determined by ANSI/RESNET/ICC 301.
